On a wonderfully overcast (my favourite weather for a wedding!) morning I made the journey across to Stockton from Bishop Auckland to photograph the colourful wedding of Grace and Daryl. The ceremony venue of the winter gardens at Preston Hall was across town from the Georgian Theatre in Stockton.
I met at Grace and Daryl (who are another example of a school friends romance story!) at Preston Park (before popping in to the butterfly house with my family!) a few months before the wedding where we looked around the winter gardens and Victorian Street.
Bacon sandwiches prepared by Grace's dad and curious cats is probably the best way to describe the preparations at Grace’s parent’s home. A classic car arrived, to the surprise of Grace, to take her and her dad to the wedding.
The winter gardens is a unique and beautiful venue - perfect light and loads of interest - plus it was lovely and warm on quite a cold day! Where else can you get married in this country alongside lemons growing!
After the lovely and touching ceremony - which featured a flamingo ring holder - we all headed to the Victorian Street for the “formal” photos. There were plenty of interesting backdrops to use!
The wedding breakfast was of a mexican theme and looked delicious - the colours of the cake were so bold, but worked perfectly with the overall feel of the Georgian Bar and Kitchen.
Flamingos, sombreros and plenty of colour - a superb wedding, which seemed to perfectly match the couple. Congratulations!
