Wedding at St Olave's Church in York

I always love to photograph weddings in my home town of York. Not just because it's very convenient for me... but because it really is the most beautiful city!

Polly grew up a short distance from St Olave's Church in York, and regularly attends, so it was the obvious choice for her wedding.

They had a small and intimate wedding with close family and friends. After the ceremony, they all took a stroll through Museum Gardens to the Dean Court Hotel, where they had their reception.

Barry and Polly first met under the tree outside York Minster. This is also where Barry proposed to Polly. So, being so close the the tree, the Dean Court Hotel was a perfect place to continue their celebrations.

We went out and had some photos under the tree.

Apparently the tree has outgrown its place. It will be removed soon to allow a better view of the Minster. It does seem such a shame that in this time of environmental destruction, trees are being removed for purely aesthetic reasons.

Hopefully Polly and Barry survive longer than their tree!

Polly and Barry did not want their wedding day spoiled by "wedding photos", so they came to me to ask for a sensitive documentary style of photography. The people were the important part of their day, and they wanted candid photos of their loved ones, as well as a few pain free posed photos.

If you are a bit of an introvert, and looking for a sensitive wedding photographer, have a look around my website and see if I might be the photographer for you.

My Portfolio is probably the best place to start.
